The Big Issue - Cover Analysis

Image
The colours used on the cover of this magazine would be very appealing to an audience as the colours are very bold and colourful. Compared to many magazines already out there the front page is very different to a mainstream magazine. This is in the way that the front page displays a lot of art work and not mainstream stuff such as social issues. This front page appears as if a lot of work and appreciation has gone into it. The audience would be attracted by the time and effort gone into creating the art work on the front page and they would share the editors appreciation. The different fonts surrounding the illustration draw attention as they make up for the background of the front page. The larger words in white stand out most which may imply that they are more important or more relevant to the stories being told. David Guetta - Titanium ft. Sia What is the song about? / What message or messages do they convey to the audience? Titanium talks about our inner strength and being strong in ourselves. The lyrics use many different literary elements to portray the message of the song such as metaphors, imagery, and symbolism. The meaning of this song is to be strong even when the world is throwing its worse at you. When bad things happen we must stand strong and not fall. As the song states, we must be "Titanium" which means to be strong hearted and strong willed. The first lyrics in the song talk about ignoring people who will shout at us and yell at us to put us down. The song uses symbolism that extends throughout the whole song. The song uses guns and bullets as a metaphor to the hateful words that people will say to us. In the chorus Sia, the vocalist of the song, sings about being bullet proof. This means that we should not worry about what people say about us.When we are shot

Analysis of music videos - Massive Attack/Radio head

Music videos   Radio head - Burn the witch Massive attack - Unfinished sympathy 1. What are the songs about?/ . 2.What message or messages do they convey to the audience? The music video Burn the witch by radio head in my opinion implies that the village are not happy with the way the police man has acted. The village have worked as a community to get rid of the policeman. However through the music video we do not see any bad actions committed by the policeman which makes the audience wonder what has this policeman done to deserve this punishment. The punishment seems like an overreaction. The music video unfinished sympathy by massive attack implies to me that they are showing the street life around that time. The songs lyrics are emotional which suggests the lyrics have been inspired by a romance. It also suggests that anyone in them streets has an opportunity and a chance to get into the music industry. Massive attack are showing there audience there background and whe
