Daily Mail - Immigration: What a mess!
This Front page of the Daily Mail would target the audience of  many people who read into what's happening around them and the newspapers view on the situation. This also may appeal to people who are interested in politics as they would be interested in the governments actions towards the immigration situation. The title of the story I'm focusing on is IMMIGRATION: WHAT A MESS. This language suggests that everything to do with the immigration crisis is a mess which suggests the government have not really took action. The way they have implied what a mess after immigration gives a very informal tone to the crisis. Its gives an impression that the newspaper are not really taking this issue seriously and its more of a mess to them. I think that this front page is slightly bias in the way that  it takes side to people against immigration and doesn't really support the immigrants side of the story. The audience does not really get a sense of sympathy as the tone of the headline is sarcastic. The newspaper has selected this headline to be placed on the front page due to the fact that immigration is an interesting topic and it would attract many people. Especially as its in very large bold writing.

Daily Mail - £90 fine if you're texting at the wheel

This front page of the Daily Mail is targeted at the audience of drivers. The message being put across is that you should not be on your phone whilst driving. The consequences of this is not only putting yourself and others in danger but a £90 fine. The newspaper has put this message on the front of the newspaper as a warning to all the drivers out there. This is relevant to all drivers as it would be useful for them to know the consequences of driving and texting. The message is in very big and bold writing which stands out straight away. I think the newspaper has done this to make sure the audience are fully aware of the reason why they are being charged a fine for a mistaken choice. what is questionable about this headline though is that they have only stated that a £90 fine is the only consequence for texting whilst driving. However it is not the only consequence. Texting whilst driving can put other people around you in great danger and also other passengers in the car. That is way much more of a consequence compared to a fine but it appears the newspaper does not agree with that. A fine is stated as more threatening then injuring innocent people. However the audience may just be thankful for the warning which may increase the Daily Mails audience.

The Guardian - Terror in Westminster

This front page targets an audience that appeals to reading into politics and about what is happening in Westminster. This front page is a warning to people about terror attacks occurring at very unexpected places at unexpected times. It was very shocking as not many people thought that there would be a terrorist attack in Westminster due to the fact that it involves the Houses of Parliament and many government offices. Due to Westminster being a very higher class place involving very important people it is known to have very protective security. However this did not stop the terrorists. The title on the front page is very straight forward and is stated exactly what it was. This implies that The Guardian has not really put their own view on the story and have just stated the crisis exactly how it is. The tone of the title appears very formal and serious. The newspaper has used this story to warn all the innocent people. The photo on the front page grabs more attention compared to the title. The photo is very graphic as it is showing injured people and how busy and manic the scene is. I think that the newspaper has selected this photo to go on the front page as it would grab a lot of peoples attention. The photo also emphasises how bad this crisis really was.
