The Big Issue - Referendum analysis

The background setting of the front page is set out like a disco party. There is a globe that is positioned like a disco ball. The background is made up of ballots in the colour of a pale blue. This indicates to the audience how they can vote if they are not sure on what they have to do. It implies that they must fill out a ballot and hand it in. The theme of everything is based on Abba. The candidates running in the election are dressed in clothes from the time of Abba and they have speech bubbles involving titles and lyrics of Abba songs. This adds humour and would attract audiences interested in Abba. This also adds to showing the fun side of the candidates personalities. In large bold writing in the bottom left hand corner it mentions 'Decision time, THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL.' This implies to the audience that it is there decision time after they have read the front page top to bottom. This is persuasive as it is allowing the audience to be involved in what is going on. It allows them to decide who they want to vote for and they can voice there opinions and judgements. This would persuade them as the audience would want to get involved with the fun as that's the way the big issue have presented the election. The Big Issue has displayed the election as a fun and happy matter. People may feel left out of boring if they was not get involved.
