Nothing is being sold in this advertisement. This advert is raising awareness of a homeless charity. This charity provides shelter for the homeless however the main focus of this advert is them getting donations in oder for them to be able to provide shelter for the homeless. 
Who is the target audience? Explain.
The target audience for this advert is anyone. Anyone who is willing to donate money to this charity. if they were to have a specific target audience then they would initailly try and appeal more to the higher class people of the population. This would give them a better chance of getting donations. 
What representations are evident in the advert?
The advert uses people with very dull facial expressions  which implies that they are miserable. The people used in this advert are ordinary people like us. The advert uses ethnically diverse people in the scenarios suggesting the fact that that help anyone and everyone. They have used the faces very up-close which presents them as being vulnerable. 
Why have such representations been employed?
The homeless people present a lot of empathy with their facial expressions which would allow the audience to feel empathy.
In what ways do the adverts appeal to the target audience?
It appeals to their target for because they have used pictures of  miserable homeless people which would make them feel more convinced to donate.

The adverts are successful in the way that they these charities do get a lot of donations and they provide shelter for the homeless.
